‘Le Turounet’ is a catered residence in an ideal location for all levels of skier to discover and explore the ski resorts of the unspoilt French Pyrenees. We offer freedom and flexibility, with a choice of bed and breakfast, optional evening meal or a fully catered package, over any number of days. Our favourite destination is the nearest resort of St Lary Soulan, in our opinion one of the best in the Pyrenees. It is an authentic mountain village servicing a number of surrounding ski areas, which makes for a great apres-ski atmosphere. There are a good selection of bars and restaurants, with some clubs open all night during the ski season. In the summer it is buzzing as a centre for tourism and extreme sports. The resorts of Peyragudes, Piau-Engaly and Val de Louron are also within easy reach.

A little further afield are the established resorts of Tourmalet (incorporating Bareges and la Mongie) and the lovely old spa town of Cauterets. Superbagneres, a custom built ski area, is also readily accessible.
For snow-shoe walking and cross country skiing there are the local dedicated areas of Nistos and Payolle, offering a range of tracks of varying length and difficulty.
We can introduce you to local English speaking guides, experienced and qualified, to take you snow-shoe walking, skiing or snowboarding, finding the best snow and helping you discover new areas.
When you return to “le Turounet”, you will find a heated boot room, plenty of hot water and a log fire waiting for you, with cakes and hot drinks for those on half board.
